Applications Lab

A vital step in arriving at individualized solutions is the ability to test and investigate the makeup, heat load and heat transfer requirements of your unique product.

The Schebler Application Lab and Demo Area is our shared advantage in learning what your product requires and verifying performance on our equipment. We always conduct preliminary run-off tests before shipment, as well as intensive on-site analysis during and after installation. And the lab allows us to conduct ongoing research and development.

Armed with that knowledge and our specialized design and food engineering experience, we’re able to devise the most efficient and effective cooling, coating, conveying and capacity performance for your operation.

A Schebler Extra:

Working with the Iowa Center for Industrial Research* (CIRAS) at Iowa State University, a variety of computer models were developed for Schebler to estimate the conduction, convection and radiation of heat from the baked product.

This gave Schebler designers levels of information on how heat was removed from the product and what parts of the cooling tunnel could be modified to improve heat transfer.

The computer code that was developed is now being used as a design tool in the development, analysis and design of new engineering. We continue to develop new tunnel designs and maintain a partnership with CIRAS to build on this progress.
